Cheryl has been a lifelong football fan, beginning at age 11 attending Bomber games with her Dad. When the opportunity came to represent the Bombers as a member of the Blue Brigade in 1986 and 87, she jumped at the chance and was a very proud member of the team. A few years ago, the opportunity came to become a member of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers Alumni Association and has spent the last 5 years reuniting with many of her squad mates as well as representing the Cheer Alumni at various events. For the past two years, she has been the Suites Coordinator for the Cheer Alumni, making sure everyone has a fun night on Game days and mix and mingling with the fans.
Cheryl is a graduate of Red River College Polytechnique in the Business Admin programme. She was employed with Air Canada for 26 years, took an early retirement that lasted all of 6 weeks and returned to work at Manitoba Public Insurance where she is a Claims Specialist and Analyst as well as mentor to new employees. She has been an active part of her Union for the past 8 years, specializing in Collective Bargaining.
Cheryl, along with another colleague, co-founded the Winnipeg chapter of Dreams Take Flight-Winnipeg. Along with her dedicated team, a flight of very excited kids headed to Disneyworld for the day and is now preparing for it's 29th flight. Cheryl recently reunited with the Dream Team and is now involved once again with the charity.
When not busy with work and volunteering, Cheryl enjoys spending time with her family, husband Frank, daughters Mykayla and Chantel and fur baby, Chloe.
Cheryl is very excited to take on this new role as Winnipeg prepares for Grey Cup 2025 and looks forward to showcasing Winnipeg and its amazing football fans and cheer teams.
