Gina was born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario, and discovered her love of dance and baton twirling at the age of five. She was a member of the Gail‑Ettes Majorettes Competitive Team, earning prestigious solo titles including Miss Majorette of Canada, Miss Central New York, and Miss Oktoberfest. As part of the team, she also helped secure multiple World and Grand National Championships at America’s Youth on Parade throughout the 1980s.
Her passion for performance led her to the CFL Ottawa Rough Riders Cheerleaders from 1991 to 1996, where she trained under Ann Holtz and performed extensively during Grey Cup festivities as part of the Ottawa Grey Cup Caravan. When the CFL returned to Ottawa in 2002, Gina proudly served as Choreographer and Director of the Ottawa Renegades Dance Team during the organization’s inaugural season.
Beyond dance, Gina is an accomplished athlete, earning a top‑three world ranking in Masters Women’s Wakesurfing in 2017. The CFL also holds deep family significance for her, as her mother, Linda, was a CFL Majorette, and both of her daughters, Alia and Jordana, are current members of the Ottawa REDBLACKS Cheer and Dance Team.
Professionally, Gina is a Certified Dental Assistant and Dental Hygiene Coordinator, and a past President of the Ontario Dental Assistants Association (Ottawa Chapter). She is grateful for her family, having been married to her husband Stephen for 25 years, and is a proud dance mom inspired daily by her daughters.
