Katie is a proud alumna of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats Cheerleaders (2016-2017) and the Ticats Dance & Cheer Team (2019-2023). Born and raised in Hamilton, Katie experienced the greatest display of hometown pride during Ticats games. Her passion for dance and the desire to be a part of the electric game day atmosphere led her to join the Hamilton Tiger-Cats Cheerleaders - following in the footsteps of her 3 older sisters. Katie will forever cherish the sights and sounds of cheering on the Ticats at home in Hamilton during the 108th Grey Cup and bearing witness to the unifying power of sports from fans across the country.
Throughout her dance training journey, Katie learned that her passion for dance is best expressed while teaching and she thrives in an environment where she can share her passion and knowledge with young minds. In addition to her many years teaching at local dance studios, her role within the City of Hamilton’s Recreational Division allowed her to work with at-risk youth for 5 years. When developing new programs, she utilized dance as a tool to connect youth to each other through the arts. She is passionate about community engagement and creating safe spaces that are inclusive to every dancer. Currently, Katie is a French Elementary Teacher and she strives to integrate the arts into student learning across all disciplines. She is proud to help foster a love of dance with the next generation.
In her new role with the CFCAO, Katie looks forward to showcasing CFL Cheer history, promoting opportunities for community engagement, facilitating new relationships between alumni members and building an online community through social media.
