Tricia Oshiro

Tricia was a Stampeder Outrider in 1994 and 1995.  You could easily pick her out from the squad though as she was one of the four Outriders who tumbled along the sidelines after touchdowns, during some of the routines, and even by fan demand (a group of fans in the southeast corner had even made signs)!  But Tricia has been competing and/or performing her whole life!
As a child she spent over a decade doing competitive gymnastics supplemented by ballet and jazz.  Teen years brought sports: basketball, volleyball, track, soccer, and badminton.  But it was marching band and winterguard before becoming an Outrider, and archery post cheerleading, that allowed her to compete all over the world, such as England, Holland, Denmark, Germany, Japan, France, Scotland, Argentina, and the United States.  Her biggest highlights?  Being featured in the book Strong and Free: Stories and Photos of Canadian Women in Sport from the Popular #superROLEmodels Project by Lyndsay Doyle and winning a silver medal for Canada on “home soil” in Halifax in 2022.
Tricia has been a Legal Assistant for over 15 years, held multiple Board positions and Committee positions with Archery Alberta and Archery Canada, and volunteered for Outrider Alumni events and performances whenever possible.  When Calgary hosted the 2019 Grey Cup, the Outrider Alumni danced at the Cheer Extravaganza and this allowed her to not only reconnect with old friends but rekindle her love for performing.
Passionate about the vision of the CFCAO, Tricia has taken on leadership roles for two Grey Cup performance teams.  She revels in the feeling of sisterhood with her fellow CFL Cheer Alumni and is excited to now also use her varied experience in an even bigger role as the Membership Director.  Tricia looks forward to working to continue growing the CFCAO, meeting those she hasn’t had the chance to yet and help everyone connect and continue to make amazing memories!
