Karla is a former Hamilton Tiger Cats Cheerleader for eight seasons between 1999-2009. In 1999, her rookie season on “The Prowl” she was fortunate enough to finish the season celebrating a Tiger Cats Grey Cup victory in Vancouver. During her tenure she had the honour of being selected team captain for three seasons and attended eight Grey Cup festivals, participated in cheer extravaganza performances & volunteered at countless local charity/community events representing the league and the Hamilton Tiger Cats organization. During the off-season she was a member of the Toronto Rock Dance Team (4 years) and Hamilton Bulldogs Ice Girls (1 year).She was a competitive dancer since the age of seven and still attends drop-in dance classes to this day. Karla is a dedicated, goal-oriented marketing leader with over nine years of experience driving high-impact global campaigns. She currently leads the marketing globally at Deloitte for their Google Cloud Alliance bringing her passion for collaboration, project management, and high-impact marketing to the forefront. In this role, Karla is responsible for the strategic development and execution of the global marketing strategy to support the firm’s long-term growth. Outside of work, Karla cheers on the Hamilton Tiger Cats as a season ticket holder and makes a point of staying active while working on her golf swing with her husband and attending drop-in dance classes. She is passionate about volunteering for the Canadian Cancer Society as a Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Cancer survivor and annually participates in their #DryFeb online campaign where proceeds go to fund groundbreaking research and provide a national support system for people affected by cancer. Karla is excited to be a member of the CFCAO Executive board and expand the awareness across the country to both past and present cheerleaders while motivating members to actively engage and share memories of their experiences with the CFL!
